Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account

Enroll with your ESA in minutes.

Arizona's ESA program lets you direct state education funding toward the school that fits your child. Our enrollment is simple, secure, and designed for your phone.

What is an ESA?

Your child’s education funding, your choice.

An Empowerment Scholarship Account gives families the freedom to choose the learning environment where their child will thrive.

State-funded accounts

The state deposits ESA funds into an account your family uses for approved education expenses, including tuition at a qualifying school.

Open to Arizona K-12 students

Since 2022, every Arizona student eligible to attend public school in kindergarten through 12th grade can apply.

Administered by the state

The Arizona Department of Education runs the program and sets its rules. We help you gather everything required.

How enrollment works

Five simple steps. Saved as you go.

Start with the basics and finish whenever you are ready. Every step saves automatically, and your secure resume link works on any device.

  1. Step 1

    Parent contact info

Your name, email, and phone. About two minutes, and it saves your spot.

  2. Step 2

    Student details

Name and birthday for each child you are enrolling.

  3. Step 3

    Home address

Your physical Arizona home address. No PO boxes.

  4. Step 4

    Document photos

Birth certificate and proof of residency, right from your camera.

  5. Step 5

    Review and submit

    Double-check everything and sign electronically.

What you'll need

Two documents and your phone.

Arizona requires a full-color copy of each student's birth certificate and proof that your family lives in Arizona. You can take the photos right inside the enrollment form.

Document 1

Birth certificate

One for each student. Take a full-color photo of the entire certificate with all four corners showing.

  • The parent applying must be listed on it
  • Include legal name-change paperwork if your name has changed
  • Color photo, sharp and readable

Document 2

Proof of Arizona residency

Your document must show your name and the same physical address you enter on the form. Choose the one that fits your situation:

Most families

Household bill

Electric, water, gas, trash or sewer, landline phone, internet, or cable bill in the parent’s name, issued within the last 60 days. Photograph the entire bill, every page, all four corners. The payment stub alone or an envelope window is not accepted.

Rural address or PO Box

Fire or police department letter

If you receive mail at a PO Box or live at a rural address, ask your local fire or police department for a physical address verification letter. It must be issued within the last 60 days.

Reservation address

Tribal address letter

If you live on a Native American reservation, upload a physical address verification letter from your tribal agency or Chapter House, issued within the last 60 days.

Address Confidentiality Program

ACP card

If you participate in Arizona’s Address Confidentiality Program, take a photo of your ACP card and use the substitute address shown on it.

No PO boxes or business addresses. Arizona requires the physical address where your family lives. If you only receive mail at a PO Box, you'll need a fire or police department verification letter.

Photo tips

Get it right the first time.

Clear photos mean faster approval. Lay each page flat on a table and follow these tips.

  • Use bright, even light and avoid glare and shadows.
  • Fit all four corners of the page inside the frame.
  • Capture every page of a bill, not just the first page or the payment stub.
  • Make sure names, dates, and addresses are sharp and readable.
  • Send full-color photos. Black-and-white copies may be rejected.
  • Check the date: bills and letters must be from the last 60 days.

Questions

Enrollment FAQ

Can't find your answer? We're happy to help by phone or email.

How long does enrollment take?

Most families finish in about ten minutes. The first step takes about two minutes and saves your spot, so you can finish the rest whenever you are ready.

Can I do everything from my phone?

Yes. Enrollment is designed for phones. You will take photos of your documents with your camera right inside the form, or choose photos and PDFs you already have.

What if I cannot finish in one sitting?

Your progress saves after every step. We email you a secure link to pick up exactly where you left off, and our team can text you that link as well.

My bill is more than 60 days old. What should I do?

Download your latest statement from your provider’s website or app, then upload a screenshot, photo, or PDF of the full statement. The statement date must be within the last 60 days.

I only have a PO Box. Can I still enroll?

Yes. Arizona requires a physical address, so you will also need a physical address verification letter from your local fire or police department, issued within the last 60 days.

I live on a reservation. What do I upload?

Upload a physical address verification letter from your tribal agency or Chapter House, issued within the last 60 days. If you also have a household bill, you can add it too.

I am in the Address Confidentiality Program.

Enter the substitute address from your ACP card and take a photo of the card. You do not need to share your confidential home address with us.

Is my information secure?

Yes. Documents are encrypted before they are stored, every connection is encrypted, and only authorized Little Village School staff can view your information after signing in with two-factor authentication. We never sell your information.

What happens after I submit?

Our team personally reviews every enrollment and contacts you by phone or email with next steps. If anything is missing, we will let you know exactly what we need.

Is Little Village School part of the Arizona Department of Education?

No. Little Village School is an independent school. The ESA program itself is administered by the Arizona Department of Education, and official program rules are published at azed.gov/esa.
